Frequently Asked Questions
Will the accuracy be affected when measuring surfaces of different materials (metal/non-metal)?
Answer: There will be a slight impact, but it is within the allowable error range. Metal surfaces have fast thermal conductivity, resulting in more accurate temperature measurement; non-metal surfaces (such as plastic and wood) have slow thermal conductivity. It is recommended to select a leaf spring probe to increase the contact area or extend the contact time (1~2 seconds) to ensure sufficient temperature conduction and reduce errors.
Can the probe wire be extended to more than 5m?
Answer: Yes. The standard wire is 1.5m, which can be customized to 5m or 10m, but shielded high-temperature resistant wire must be used to avoid signal attenuation and electromagnetic interference; the response time may increase slightly after extension (≤800ms), which does not affect normal use.
What if the display backlight does not turn on?
Answer: ① Check if the battery power is sufficient; the backlight will be automatically turned off when the power is too low; ② Try to wake up the backlight by pressing the operation button (the backlight of some models is trigger-type, which is turned on by pressing the button); ③ If it still does not turn on, there may be a fault in the backlight function, and you need to contact the manufacturer for maintenance.
What precautions should be taken when measuring high-temperature surfaces (such as 500℃)?
Answer: ① Select a high-temperature resistant probe (confirm that the probe temperature resistance ≥ measured temperature) to avoid probe damage; ② Do not contact the high-temperature surface for a long time (single measurement does not exceed 30 seconds) to prevent wire or probe aging; ③ Wear protective gloves during operation to avoid scalding.
Why does the data fluctuate greatly during measurement?
Answer: ① The probe is not in close contact with the measured surface, and it needs to be reattached (ensure the magnetic probe is firmly adsorbed, and the leaf spring probe is tightly pressed); ② The temperature of the measured surface itself is dynamically changing, and the "data hold" function can be turned on to lock the measured value; ③ Environmental air flow interference, and the air flow can be blocked before measurement again.
Does the product need regular calibration?
Answer: It is recommended to calibrate once a year. After long-term use or measurement in high-temperature and corrosive environments, the accuracy may deviate. Calibration can be performed through standard constant temperature baths or professional calibration equipment to ensure measurement accuracy; if the use frequency is low, the calibration interval can be extended to 2 years.
