II. Product Features
One of the thermocouples with the highest temperature measurement upper limit available on the market, capable of measuring up to 2500℃ for short-term use and maintaining stable operation at 2000℃ for long-term use, ideal for ultra-high temperature scenarios such as refractory metal smelting.
Standard models are suitable for vacuum, hydrogen and inert gas atmospheres; double-sleeve (corundum + molybdenum) models can be applied in oxidizing atmospheres and even replace precious metal thermocouples.
Adopts specially made metal sleeves (molybdenum, tantalum, tungsten, etc.) as outer shell, filled with insulating materials, and sealed assembled under vacuum or protective atmosphere to ensure stability under high pressure (10MPa).
Supports customization of various sleeve materials (superalloy, corundum, molybdenum/tantalum/tungsten tube) and diameters to meet the requirements of different temperature ranges and working environments.
As an early domestic enterprise engaged in R&D of W-Re thermocouples, we have participated in formulating multiple industry standards. Our products have won certifications including "China Excellent Instrument" and "Chongqing Famous Brand Product".
III. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Why can't tungsten-rhenium vacuum thermocouples be used at high temperatures in air environment?
Answer: Tungsten-rhenium alloy is prone to oxidation and failure in air environment above 1000℃, leading to thermoelectric potential drift and thermocouple wire breakage. However, in vacuum or inert gas (such as argon, nitrogen) environment, it can isolate oxygen, avoid oxidation and corrosion, and ensure stable work. If it is necessary to use it in oxidizing environment, a special anti-oxidation protection tube must be equipped, but the maximum temperature measurement will be reduced to 1400℃.
How to choose different protection tube materials?
Answer: For conventional vacuum high-temperature scenarios (below 1700℃, no contact with molten metal), high-purity corundum tube is preferred for its highest cost-effectiveness; For metal smelting scenarios (such as titanium alloy and stainless steel melting), molybdenum tube is selected to avoid the corundum tube being eroded by molten metal; For extreme high-temperature scenarios (1700~1800℃), tungsten tube is selected to ensure high-temperature resistance performance.
Is vacuum treatment required before using the product?
Answer: Yes. After installation, vacuum pumping must be carried out in conjunction with the vacuum furnace. It is recommended to first pump to below 10⁻³Pa, then heat up to 200℃ and keep it warm for 30 minutes to remove residual gas in the protection tube and insulating parts, avoiding gas expansion at high temperatures affecting vacuum degree and temperature measurement accuracy.
How to judge if the thermocouple is faulty?
Answer: Troubleshooting can be carried out through three points: ① Abnormal fluctuation of temperature measurement data or large deviation from the actual working condition may be caused by thermocouple wire breakage or insulation failure; ② Rapid decrease of vacuum degree of the vacuum furnace may be caused by damage to the sealing structure; ③ No change in thermoelectric potential during heating may be caused by loose wiring or falling off of the hot junction welding point. In case of the above situations, the machine must be shut down for inspection, and professional testing by the manufacturer should be contacted if necessary.
What is the product warranty and maintenance cycle?
Answer: The product warranty period is 12 months (under normal working conditions); Maintenance cycle recommendation: When used at 1700℃ for a long time, the sealing structure and thermocouple wire status should be checked every 6 months; When used below 1500℃, maintenance should be carried out every 12 months. Maintenance content includes cleaning terminal blocks, checking the aging of sealing rings, and calibrating temperature measurement accuracy.
