Technical requirements for thermocouple sealing

Airtightness/watertightness compliance: Resist the working medium (gas, liquid, steam) with no leakage (commonly verified by helium leak testing or water pressure testing).

Operating condition adaptation: Temperature resistance (matching the thermocouple's temperature measurement range, up to 1600℃+), pressure resistance, and corrosion resistance (adapting to acid-base, high-temperature oxidation environments).

No impact on temperature measurement: The sealing structure shall not damage the thermoelectromotive force stability, and there shall be no obvious delay in response speed.

Reliable structure: No shedding or cracking under long-term vibration and thermal cycling, meeting the equipment service life requirements.

 

Importance

 

Sealing is the key to the stable operation and safe service of thermocouples:

 

1.Prevent the infiltration of media (such as high-temperature gas, acid-base liquids) to avoid corrosion and short circuits of internal components, and extend the service life;

 

2.Ensure temperature measurement accuracy by avoiding cold junction temperature drift or abnormal thermoelectromotive force caused by leakage;

 

3. In high-risk working conditions (such as flammable, explosive, high-pressure environments), sealing can prevent safety accidents caused by medium leakage and protect the integrity of the equipment system.
