1. Low to Medium Temperature Range (≤1100℃):
Type K Thermocouple- Applicable Scenarios: Hot blast stove of iron blast furnace, low-temperature section of steel rolling heating furnace, continuous casting mold, etc.- Core Advantages: Low cost, good oxidation resistance, the most commonly used "general-purpose" thermocouple in the metallurgical industry.
2. Medium to High Temperature Range (1100-1300℃):
Type S / Type R Thermocouple- Applicable Scenarios: Steelmaking converter / electric arc furnace flue gas temperature, continuous molten steel temperature measurement, high-temperature section of heat treatment furnace.- Core Advantages: Made of platinum-rhodium alloy, high-temperature oxidation resistance, high accuracy, the preferred choice for key high-temperature processes in metallurgy.
3. Ultra-High Temperature Range (≥1300℃):
Type B Thermocouple- Applicable Scenarios: High-temperature area at the top of blast furnace, ceramic kiln (for metallurgical auxiliary material production), core area of metal smelting furnace.- Core Advantages: Can measure up to 1800℃, stability far exceeds other types at ultra-high temperatures, strong corrosion resistance.
4. Special Working Conditions:
Type N Thermocouple- Applicable Scenarios: Furnaces in metallurgical plants with sulfur-containing, carbon-containing, and other reducing atmospheres (e.g., coke ovens).- Core Advantages: Strong resistance to reduction, overcoming K-type thermocouples' susceptibility to "poisoning" and failure in reducing atmospheres.
