Thermocouples/RTDs For Power Plant Temperature Measurement

Aug 27, 2026 Leave a message

Due to the high-temperature, high-pressure, and continuous operation characteristics of power plants, thermocouples/RTDs are required to possess specific performance features. This product series is primarily used for measuring temperatures in boilers, steam pipelines, steam turbines, and related equipment. They adopt a combined installation method using thermowells and sheathed thermocouples/RTDs. Users can weld or mechanically fix the thermowell onto the equipment, and then install the connector-type sheathed thermocouple/RTD for temperature measurement. This installation approach offers the advantages of enhancing the working pressure capability and service life of the thermocouple/RTD, while also facilitating easy maintenance or replacement. This structural design is now widely adopted both domestically and internationally.

Based on their applications, thermocouples/RTDs for power plant temperature measurement are available in six types: sheathed thermocouples, wear-resistant thermocouples/RTDs, pipeline/furnace wall thermocouples, flue/duct thermocouples, bearing RTDs/thermocouples, and face-type thermocouples/RTDs. They are offered in five different structural configurations, allowing users to select the appropriate model according to varying temperature, pressure, and steam flow velocity conditions.

The thermowells manufactured by our company are produced using a deep-blind-hole technique, with no welding at the closed end. This results in high pressure resistance, excellent strength, reliable operation, and long service life. The connector-type sheathed thermocouples/RTDs feature a spring-loaded contact structure, ensuring that during operation the measuring junction of the sheathed element maintains consistent, reliable contact with the thermowell. This design provides excellent vibration resistance and fast thermal response times. All measuring junctions are fully insulated to prevent electromagnetic interference. The thermowells and sheathed thermocouples/RTDs are entirely of a split construction, enabling quick element replacement without shutting down the equipment. Wiring connections are made through large-space explosion-proof terminal heads, making installation, use, and maintenance highly convenient.
