Motor-Dedicated Thermocouple / RTD Series – Safeguarding Bearings, Bushings, and Windings
Large rotating equipment (such as motors, turbines, generators, blowers, etc.) operates at high speeds over prolonged periods. Factors such as poor lubrication, insufficient cooling, load fluctuations, abnormal current, insulation aging, or winding faults can cause bearing, bushing, or coil temperatures to rise sharply. If overheating is not detected in time, the consequences can range from unplanned shutdowns to equipment burnout and production line stoppages, resulting in significant economic losses.
To address these challenges, Chongqing Duchin Instrument Co., Ltd. has launched its Motor-Dedicated Thermocouple / RTD Series. Developed specifically for rotating equipment conditions based on conventional temperature sensors, the measuring probes are pressed firmly against the measured surface by compression springs, enabling continuous and accurate real‑time temperature readings. This allows early warning and timely intervention, adding a reliable layer of protection for equipment safety.
Core Parameters (Typical Values)
Measurement Accuracy:
RTD (Pt100, Class A, 4‑wire) – up to ±0.5°C (approximately ±0.15°C near 0°C, and approximately ±0.65°C at 250°C);
Thermocouple (Class I, e.g., Type K) – ±1.5°C;
Other accuracy classes (e.g., Class B RTD, Class II thermocouple) are available upon request, covering a range of ±0.5 to 2.5°C.
Thermal Response Time: 2–15 seconds, allowing rapid capture of temperature rises.
Maximum Operating Temperature: 250°C; Insulation resistance ≥100 MΩ (at room temperature), ensuring stable electrical performance.
Structural Features: Simple design, easy installation, cost‑effective, safe, durable, and long service life.
Product Line Covers Three Major Application Scenarios
1. Bearing / Bushing Temperature Measurement
Main model W□RD‑61 (Motor Type): Installed with a compression‑spring thread (M8×0.75) and shielded lead wires, suitable for most motor bearings.
Main model W□RD‑71 (Turbine Type): Installed with a compression‑spring fixing plate (2‑Φ4 holes), designed for large turbine units.
Both configurations ensure close contact between the probe and the bushing surface for accurate measurement.

2. Coil Winding Temperature Measurement
The measuring probe is directly tied to the end of the motor coil, impregnated and dried together with the coil, and the lead wires are connected to the motor terminal box. This enables real‑time monitoring of internal winding temperatures, effectively preventing overheating caused by overload or insulation aging.
3. Multi‑Point Embedded Plane Temperature Measurement
Suitable for multi‑point temperature monitoring on flat surfaces of equipment, catering to customised measurement layouts.
Flexible Structural Types and Selection System
The measuring probes are available in four structural types to accommodate different temperature, insulation, and installation requirements:
Metal sheath
Integral armour
F4 (PTFE) sheath
Epoxy resin plate
The selection system supports up to 12 freely combinable fields, covering:
Thermocouple type (K, E, J, N, Pt100, Cu50, etc.),Single or dual element,Mounting arrangement,Termination method,Measuring junction construction,Lead wire type,Accuracy class,Overall length,Sheath material,Other custom options
Customisation is available according to the specific motor model and operating conditions of the customer, and OEM/ODM cooperation is also supported.
