Disposable Thermocouple Wire Comply With AMS2750 Standard For Aerospace Heat Treatment

Introduction

Disposable thermocouple wire (also named expendable thermocouple wire) was introduced to China's aerospace industry before 2000, following the AMS2750 high-temperature measurement standard released by SAE International.

This product is thermocouple wire insulated and sheathed with fiber or plastic coating, also known as single-use thermocouple. Its appearance and manufacturing process are similar to thermocouple extension wire, widely applied for temperature measurement in aerospace and related industries.

As there is no dedicated national standard for expendable thermocouples in China, our production strictly follows two authoritative specifications:

ASTM/E574 Standard Specification for Base Metal Thermocouple Wire, Glass Fiber or Silica Fiber Insulated

GB/T9489-2013 Thermocouple Extension Wire

 

Our Aerospace R&D Background

In 2019, our company was commissioned by COMAC Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Co., Ltd. to participate in a key MIIT civil aircraft research project - Research on On-site Calibration Technology & Digital Metrology Support Platform for Heat Treatment Equipment Key Performance Parameters. We took charge of the sub-project for expendable thermocouple development.

Monitor Thermocouples Connected to furnace monitoring instruments, for process control, real-time monitoring & data recording

Load Thermocouples Attached or embedded into workpieces to measure actual part temperature

Disposable / Expendable Thermocouples Thermocouple wire with fiber/plastic insulation & sheath (our core product)

Non-Disposable Thermocouples Reusable types, including assembled thermocouples & mineral insulated sheathed thermocouples

AMS2750 Calibration Specifications

Disposable thermocouples, plus K/N/T type non-disposable thermocouples operating above 260℃, cannot be re-calibrated.

Calibration requirements: Calibrate at specified temperature points; temperature interval between calibration points shall not exceed 140℃.

Maximum length limits for coiled thermocouple cables:

Expendable thermocouple wire & MI sheathed thermocouple cable: ≤610 meters

Base metal thermocouple wire: ≤1525 meters
