Products Description
Within a certain temperature range, a pair of mutually insulated wires has the same thermoelectric characteristics as the connected thermocouple wires is called a pair of thermocouple compensation wires. Its function is to extend the cold end of the thermocouple to the display control instrument for compensation for the cold end temperature and automatically calculate the hot end temperature.
Thermocouple compensation wire is specialized for connecting thermocouple with display instrument or control system, including SC,KX,KC,NX,NC,EX,JX,TX,CC,DC types, the temperature range is -40~250℃. Thermocouple compensation wire do help in thermocouple measurement accuracy.
Duchin has been producing compensation wires since 2001. It is the only company in Southwest China that produces compensation wires for thermocouples, has participated in the formulation of Extension and Compensating Cables for Thermocouples (GB/T 4989-2013) and The Compensating Extension Wires for Tungsten-rhenium Thermocouples (JB/T 9496-2014) standards.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Q: Can ordinary cables be used instead of compensation wires?
A: No. The thermoelectric characteristics of ordinary cables do not match those of thermocouples, which will introduce large temperature measurement errors.
- Q: How to choose between extension type and compensation type?
A: Select the extension type for scenarios requiring high precision and a wide temperature range; choose the compensation type for scenarios with general precision requirements and cost sensitivity.
- Q: What to do if the core color coding is confused?
A: Refer to the color coding chart (e.g., K-type: positive pole in red, negative pole in blue), or distinguish the positive and negative poles by measuring the thermoelectric potential with a multimeter.
- Q: Can the heat-resistant type be used above 200℃?
A: No. The rated temperature of the heat-resistant type is -20~200℃. Exceeding the temperature limit will cause damage to the insulation/sheath and failure of thermoelectric characteristics.
- Q: Is it necessary to choose the shielded type?
A: The shielded type is recommended for scenarios with strong electromagnetic interference (e.g., near frequency converters and motors) to reduce signal interference.
